1. Which countries does Steady cover

Steady eSIM currently offers high-speed regional coverage across four key South-East Asian countries. Our network partners are top-tier national carriers, ensuring you get maximum signal strength and 5G speeds where available.

Supported Countries & Partners:

CountryPartner NetworkMax Speed Target
SingaporeSingtel / StarHub5G / 4G LTE
MalaysiaMaxis / CelcomDigi5G / 4G LTE
IndonesiaTelkomsel / XL Axiata5G / 4G LTE
ThailandAIS / TrueMove H5G / 4G LTE
Automatic Network Switching: As you travel and cross borders, your eSIM will automatically scan for the local partner network and switch connections. There is no need to manually change settings or download additional eSIM profiles.

2. What is the difference between the available data plans?

We offer two types of mobile data plans to fit your travel style: Country-Specific Plans and Regional Passes.

Comparing Our Plans:

  1. Regional Passes (Recommended): Designed for multi-destination travelers. A single pass covers Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. Your high-speed data allowance is shared across all four countries, letting you cross borders with zero friction.
  2. Country-Specific Plans: Designed for travelers spending their entire trip in a single country. These plans connect exclusively to network partners in the designated country (e.g., Singapore Only) and offer the most budget-friendly rates for single-destination trips.
Which One Should You Choose? If you are planning to transit or visit multiple countries (such as taking a ferry from Singapore to Batam, Indonesia, or driving across the bridge into Malaysia), we strongly recommend our Regional Pass to prevent any gap in your internet connection.

3. Does my plan support hotspot and tethering?

Yes! All Steady eSIM plans fully support personal hotspots and mobile data tethering. You can share your high-speed internet connection with other devices such as tablets, laptops, e-readers, or other smartphones.

How to Enable Tethering:

  • On Apple iOS (iPhone): Go to Settings > Personal Hotspot and toggle Allow Others to Join to ON. Make sure your Cellular Data is configured to use the Steady eSIM.
  • On Android Devices: Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Hotspot and Tethering and turn on Mobile Hotspot.
Data Consumption Warning: Tethering multiple devices will consume your data allowance significantly faster. Laptops and tablets connected to a hotspot often treat it as a standard Wi-Fi network and may download large background updates (iCloud sync, cloud backup, system updates). We recommend disabling automatic updates on connected devices while using your eSIM hotspot.

4. When does my plan validity period start?

One of the key benefits of Steady eSIMs is that your plan's validity countdown does not begin when you purchase or install the eSIM. You can buy and install the eSIM well in advance of your trip.

Understanding the Validity Lifecycle:

  1. Purchase & Email Delivery: When you buy a plan, we generate the eSIM profile and send you a QR code. Your validity (e.g., 30 days) has not started yet.
  2. Installation: When you scan the QR code and install the eSIM profile in your phone's settings, the plan remains dormant. Validity has still not started.
  3. First Network Connection (Activation): The validity countdown begins the exact second your device connects to a supported local carrier network at your travel destination (e.g., Singtel in Singapore or Maxis in Malaysia).
Plan Ahead: We highly recommend purchasing and installing your eSIM the day before you travel while you are still at home on a stable Wi-Fi connection. Keep the line toggled OFF in your settings until you arrive at your destination.

5. What happens when I reach my data limit?

All Steady eSIM plans offer a dedicated high-speed data allowance (e.g., 10GB). We do not have hidden speed caps or throttle your speed under normal use.

What Happens When Data is Exhausted:

  • Reaching 100% Usage: Once you consume 100% of your purchased data allowance, your mobile data connection will stop. We never charge you overage fees or automatically bill you.
  • Validity Expiration: If the plan's validity period (e.g., 30 days) expires before you use all your data, the unused data expires, and the data connection will stop.
Monitoring Your Data: You can track your data consumption directly in your device's settings (under Cellular/Data Usage) or by logging into your Steady dashboard to view real-time data sync info.

Need More Data? If you run out of data while traveling, you can purchase a top-up bundle on our website at any time. It will immediately extend your data capacity or queue up to activate.
